Help Secure Equitable and Predictable Dollars for Public Charter Schools
As advocates for our children, we can act to ensure all public schools have equitable access to safe educational facilties. Click here to send a letter to ask the Senate Appropriations Committee to deliver facility dollars to public charter schools in a timely and predictable manner.
Last year, Senate Bill 658 opened the door to tens of millions of dollars in new facility resources for public charter schools in low-income communities. Now Senator Gloria Romero has introduced new legislation, SB 378, to ensure schools get monies in time to plan effectively for the school year. This bill will specifically allow charter schools to receive their facilities funding in the current fiscal year, rather than as a reimbursement. Further, the bill will allow even more schools in underserved communities to access the resources when funds are available.
