Frequently Asked Questions on FTC Communications
Why are you asking for my address?
One of the most powerful ways that parents can have an impact is by connecting with the legislators who represent them. Providing your address allows us to connect you with the elected officials in your area and alert you to events and news related to your community.
Why are you asking for my email?
Things happen very quickly in the state Capitol. Families That Can uses email as our primary way of communicating with parents, both to keep our costs down and to ensure you get the information you need as quickly as possible.
Do I need to put my home telephone number and cell phone number?
Everyone likes to communicate in different ways. We work to provide different options for people to receive information from us. Not everyone uses email; for that reason, we allow people the option of signing up with their home phone numbers, in case they prefer to receive information that way.
Providing your cell phone number and choosing to receive text messages from us is optional. Families That Can does not charge subscribers for text messages. Standard text messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply. We generally send text messages for important action alerts and major events in your area.
I want to keep in touch, but I don't want to provide my personal information.
You can always find the latest information here on this web page and you can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the latest.
